‘Even Moussa Sissoko had a better season!’ – Fans fume at controversial PFA Team of the Year

The PFA Team of the Year for the 2018/19 season has outraged some fans on social media after a number of controversial omissions.

Apart from Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, the XI is dominated entirely by players from Liverpool and Manchester City.

While Pogba enjoyed a purple patch during the start of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tenure, the rest of the season has been tumultuous to say the least.

Eden Hazard and Heung-min Son have enjoyed wonderful seasons in the capital, while Fernandinho has been masterful in Pep Guardiola’s midfield.

In fact, several beleaguered fans even complained that Tottenham Hotspur star Moussa Sissoko was worthy of a spot after his revival this season.

The back four is completely dominated by Liverpool and Man City players, with Ederson getting the nod between the sticks.

Elsewhere, Sadio Mane has been included up front alongside Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling.

But not everyone is satisfied with the Team of the Year, especially considering Pogba’s slump in form.

Check out what fans had to say on Twitter below!

City won 4-3 at the Etihad on the night but Spurs went through on away goals after winning the first leg at home 1-0. The game was a spectacle and it looked like Raheem Sterling had scored the winner for City in stoppage-time, only for it to be chalked off for offside in the build-up.
